This page explains what information Type Brief (typebrief.com) collects when you visit, and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Newsletter: if you subscribe, your email address is stored by our email provider, Kit, so we can send you the newsletter. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Contact form: your name, email and message are sent to us by email so we can reply. We don’t add you to any list.
- Font tester: the text you type into a font preview stays in your browser. We don’t store or send it anywhere.
- Server logs and security: our host and Cloudflare keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site running and block abuse.
Analytics
We use Umami and Google Analytics to see which articles people read and which links they click. Umami doesn't use cookies. Google Analytics does; in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland it only sets them after you agree. You can read how Google uses this data.
Cookies and ads
We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalized ads in Google’s Ad Settings, and learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalized ads are shown.
Affiliate links
When you click an affiliate link, the store you visit may set its own cookie so it can credit us if you buy something. That store’s privacy policy applies there.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, block cookies in your browser, or ask us to delete anything you’ve sent us through the contact form.
